Co-teaching

by Faith Stackert

Many of the students here at Nash Middle School are given the opportunity to be involved in a co-taught classroom. That means that there are two certified teachers in the classroom - one general education teacher and one special education teacher. The two teachers both share the planning and teaching of the class. This not only benefits the struggling students but those already at grade level as well. Staff have seen many positive results from this method of teaching. I enjoy co-teaching because it gives all students the chance to be involved in the general curriculum as well as gives me as a teacher the chance to interact with all of the students in the 7th and 8th grades. I look forward to a successful year and attribute that in part to the co-teaching aspect of my job!

During the 2018 - 2019 school year I will be co-teaching in the 8th grade classes.
