My name is Ms. Laura Drews and I am so excited to be working with your students this year for Response to Intervention (RtI) for Language Arts and Math! This will be my second year as a Nash Middle School Rocket, along with my second year doing RtI. Previously, I spent two years teaching 8th-grade Language Arts and Social Studies in Dwight, IL.
I graduated from Lewis University in 2011 with my Bachelor's in Elementary Education, with my Middle School Endorsement. Along with that, I have a minor in English Language and Literature, as well. Previously, I worked for Posen-Robbins School District 143 1/2 on their 6th grade team teaching Language Arts. Before that, I worked as a paraprofessional in New Lenox in several special needs settings and was a substitute in Mokena before that. My experience in the education field spans over a decade.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family. My boyfriend and I share a dog, Jack, and we love to travel to Disney World and golf.
I look forward to getting to know you and your students this year. I am dedicated to putting the needs of students first and always strive for everyone's success.
For students' success, we, the teachers and parents, all need to be on the same page. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.
I can be reached by email: ldrews@cusd4.org
I look forward to a wonderful 2024-2025 school year at Nash Middle School!
Jack
