New Scholarships and Other Opportunities

Regular up-dates of scholarships and other opportunities

 

There will be regular up-dates of scholarship and other opportunities that are available for all grade levels.  Some information will have web addresses that you can visit.  Copy and paste the web address to your web browser to access these scholarships and programs.  Some scholarships do not have a web address and these scholarships and applications can be acquired in the guidance office

  • www.collegescholarships.org   Fill out one application and the Scholarship Owl will submit your application to numerous Scholarships – ie Target, McDonalds, KFC, just to name a few

September Scholarships

  • Hagan Scholarship Foundation - intended for high achieving students who will require financial assistance in order to attend college - go to:  www.hsfmo.org 

  • Fund Scholarships - scholarships available for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender person and their children in Illinois - go to:  www.acornequalityfund.org

  • Quest Bridge Scholarship -  connects academically outstanding high school seniors from low-income backgrounds with full four-year scholarships to the nation's leading colleges.  Go to:   https://www.questbridge.org 

  • SP Scholarship - Must be a high school senior and must answer the Essay question on the sponsors website.  10 awards will be given out  https://www.studentscholarships.org/scholarship/14186/sp_scholarship_scholarship.php

  • Greenhouse Scholars is an education non-profit that is dedicated to cultivating a community of leaders who will change the communities of the world.  https://greenhousescholars.org  

  • NCWIT Aspirations in computing for women grades 9-12.  Must be US citizen, female, interested in computers and technology.  Go to: https://www.aspirations.org/

  • The Illinois Odd Fellow-Rebekah Scholarship - students with financial need that maintain a "C" average - you may apply online - go to: www.ioof-il.org 

  • KCC Foundation Scholarships - must attend Kankakee Community College, apply online at www.kcc.edu/scholarships 

  • Illinois AMVETS and AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary Scholarships - apply on line at:  www.ilamvets.org 

  • The Illinois Conservation Foundation is offering their Conservation Achievement Scholarship go to: https://ilconservation.org/What-We-Do/Scholarships 

  • Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Bloomington has various scholarships to offer.  Go to: https://www.aasrdanville.org/scholarships

  • Illinois Sheriffs' Association - $500.00 to and Illinois resident.  go to: https://www.ilsheriff.org/ 

  • Beta Sigma Psi Scholarship -  Martin Luther Scholarship.  For any accredited 4-year College or University in the United States.   For more information go to:  http://wp.betasigmapsi.org/scholarships-grants/.

  • The Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, Inc.  - high school graduate in the spring, demonstrate financial need, and a U.S. citizen.  Students can apply for the state and/or national level.

  • Central FFA Boosters Scholarship - for CHS seniors who are a member of the Central FFA Chapter exhibiting potential for successful completion of chosen course of study at an institution of higher learning

  • Dean Ritter Trust for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Scholarship - for senior who are deaf or hard of hearing in one or both ears (severe to profound), exhibit financial need - go to: http://www.deanritter.org/ -

  • Central Athletic Booster Club Scholarship - CHS senior, who participated one or more sports for at least 2 years

  • Central Federation of Teachers Scholarship - CHS seniors pursuing a field of education

  • Central High School Reunion Classes 1965-66-67 College Scholarship - senior at CHS furthering their education

  • Chebanse American Legion Scholarship - sr., scholastic ability & community concern

  • Dawn Schafer Memorial Scholarship - CHS senior pursuing a career in health, education, or agriculture at a four-year college or university

  • Kerry Lee O'Brien Scholarship - senior at CHS, essays

  • Lions Club Scholarships - Ashkum and Chebanse Lions Club Committees select scholarships for CHS students from their towns and surrounding areas

April Scholarships

  • Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois - for seniors with the potential of being excellent teachers, scholars agree to teach five years in an Illinois school of need, scholars must attend four residential summer institutes - www.goldenapple.org 

  • Iroquois County Republican Women's Club - female, senior, 3 year resident of Iroquois county, must be a registered voter when you are legally possible, proof US citizenship

  •  Lee Bradford Scholarship - must be active in community service projects and/or volunteer opportunities, must live in Kankakee County, attend college or enroll in a vocational training program

  • Zumper Outstanding Student Scholarship - https://www.zumper.com/scholarship $1000 awarded 

  • Iroquois County Soil and Water Conservation District & Pheasants Forever Scholarship - resident of Iroquois County, demonstrate an interest in conservation

  • Kankakee Area CAP Scholarship - 3.0 GPA, pursuing a career in science, math, health care, or technology

 May Scholarships

  • IKGSL Scholarship - available to junior or senior softball players belonging to the IKGSL league.  Scholarhip applications are available in the guidance office. 

  • Iroquois County Law Enforcement Association - students pursuing a degree in the field of Law Enforcement.  Must be a resident of Iroquois County.  Applications located in the guidance office

  • American Heart Association Scholarship - for current seniors with leadership qualities and community service/involvement.  Apply online at https://www2.heart.org/site/SPageServer/?pagename=khc_resources_scholarships 

  • Kids’ Chance Inc. of Illinois was founded with the goal of awarding academic scholarships to deserving children of workers seriously injured or killed on the job.  go to:  http://www.kidschanceofillinois.com/
