The River Valley Conference is hosting its second annual Choir Festival at Central High School’s Harold and Jean Miner Auditorium on Thursday, November 7 at 7 p.m.
Admission to the concert is free.
Singers from four of the conference’s schools are participating in the event.
Last year marked the first time that a fall choir event was scheduled by the conference. In the spring, the conference has a band concert made of participants from the 10 conference schools.
The participating students were selected by the home school directors. The students spend the day of the concert at Central preparing for the evening’s performance. The students spend time in his or her part (soprano, alto, tenor or bass) with one of the directors from a participating school.
Rehearsals occurred as a group and as sectionals.
The choir is being led by guest conductor John Musick from Lyons Township High School. Gwen Fox was the guest accompanist. Martin Kohn is assisting on percussion.
