Makayla and Laney

Three Central High School seniors were recently inducted into the Kankakee Area Career Center Chapter of the National Technical Honor Society.

Makayla Austin

Makayla Austin, daughter of Chianna Langley, is a first-year certified nurse assistant student.

Laney Clyden

Alaina Clyden, daughter of Molly and Brian Clyden, is a second-year cosmetology student.

Carter Kelley

Carter Kelley, son of Amy and Matt Kelley, is a second-year engineering and design student.

To be inducted, the students had to have met the six following criteria:

  1. Second year senior enrolled at KACC in good standing.

  2. Maintain a 3.67 grade point average for three semesters.

  3. Maintain a 4.0 grade point average in employability for three semesters.

  4. Receive approval and recommendation from KACC instructor(s).

  5. Participate in at least

    a.     15 documented hours of volunteer activities throughout the community

    b.     15 documented hours of job shadowing

    c.     15 hours of internship during high school

  6. National NTHS Bylaws will be followed as a guideline for all KACC NHS students.

The three were inducted at an induction ceremony on Thursday, February 20 at River Valley Christian Fellowship. Last year, eight Central students were inducted.
